There are signs of a growing awareness about the importance of academic continuity within certain federal government agencies. In particular, the US Department of Education and the US Department of Homeland Security have taken an active interest in this topic. Representatives from these agencies participated in the Academic Continuity and Emergency Management workshop at UMUC in June 2007, and they have also been engaged in discussions on how to promote progress on this initiative. |
