- Keeping in mind that although some schools and systems have infrastructures and funding to fortify academic continuity plans, many do not. Thus, academiccontinuity.org can become a national clearing house and broker for compacts among institutions to facilitate resource sharing via reciprocal agreements
- Continue building repository of resources for academic continuity planning, including links to exemplary institutional plans and to government public health and response agencies
- Make academic continuity a topic of national awareness and urgency via marketing, outreach and publications
- Create Presidents, brochure about A/C to spur champions who lead preparedness efforts, emphasizing how-to focus
- Hold workshops, using Ohio State University and others who are developing academic continuity plans as exemplars
- Model compacts on EMAC, the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, see http://www.emacweb.org/
- Form compacts among institutions as insurance for incident response, mitigation, and recovery (whether by prior agreement or just-in-time)
- Create united effort among consortia and professional associations such as Sloan-C, ADEC, SREB, NASULGC members for a higher education seat at the national table for emergency planning and funding
- Make FEMA, Homeland Security and DOE contacts to promote A/C planning methods
- Build a network among all 50 states via academic centers for public health preparedness, see http://www.bt.cdc.gov/training/cphp/index.asp, and other state agencies
- Solicit support and commitment from commercial partners and other funding sources
